Hazard Inspection
-
- Trees add to our enjoyment of the
outdoors. They contribute to the value of our properties and help us
recover from our illnesses. Trees also have liabilities associated
with them. They can cause injury to property and individuals. The
key to reducing the liabilities is to recognize when a tree becomes hazardous
and take actions to correct these hazards.
-
- Tree care activities can be done at many different times of the year, but there are times when each activity provides the most benefits. The timing of these activities vary by area, but they are same with respect to the life cycle of the tree. The exact timing for each activity can be obtained from the local extension service, land grant university or qualified tree care professional. Each of these activities can be done by the owner of the tree or by qualified tree care professionals.
- Trees, like all other living plants, have many nutritional requirements for sustained growth and reproduction. There are various methods of determining the available nutrients in the soil, as well as methods of determining the amount of nutrients absorbed by the tree. When certain nutrients are
deficient in the soil, fertilizers may be able to correct the deficiency. Fertilizers come in many forms and are applied in many ways. The amount and kind of vegetation in the area, as well as the reasons for fertilization are critical factors in determining the application method to use.

Tree Appraisals
-
- Each tree and shrub has a monetary value that represents its worth to the tree owner or its replacement cost. Tree appraisals are able to be done by arborists that are trained in the principles and practices as outlined by the Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers. The Eighth Edition of The Guide for Plant Appraisal details these principles and
practices. These appraisals are used for insurance claims, casualty loss claims, trespass cases and many other uses.
