Southern Urban Forestry Associates has a wide background in urban forestry. SUFA started as the first company in Alabama to specialize in urban forestry.  We have grown to have clients throughout the Southeastern United States, including: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina and Oklahoma.  Find out more about SUFA and our associates, including their resumes.

            SUFA has completed or are in the process of completing projects dealing with Street Tree Inventories and Management Plans, Comprehensive Urban Forest Plans, Tree Planting, City Tree Nursery Development, Informational Brochure Development, and Personnel Training.  Most of this work was funded by Urban and Community Forestry (U&CF) and Small Business Administration (SBA) Grants.  The firm developed, wrote and administered the grant applications for the applying city and regional governments and institutions.  SUFA has also performed tree condition evaluations, dollar valuations and tree plantings for accountants, insurance companies, individuals, attorneys, government agencies and land developers.  Find out more about the services that we offer.

            One of our proudest accomplishments that has resulted from our team work is our Online Tree Inventory System.  This system is a powerful tree inventory program that is hosted on an off-site server.  In this manner, the user accesses the data using any standard web browser and does not have to any program or data on their computer or server.  If you are desire more information about this system, please email us and we can set up a demonstration user identification name and password.

            We also have other materials for sale.  We offer manuals to teach basic tree care, developing long-term tree management plans and organizing tree boards and commissions.  We are licensed dealers for TRiM, Tree Risk Management System, and Canopy, tree inventory software.  We sell a variety of injectable fertilizers and pesticides.  We have a company newsletter that is mailed semi-annually.  We develop other products to meet the specific needs of our clients.
